ERTL John Deere 40 & 70 Series 50th Anniv. Set - This 1/16 scale die-cast model tractor collector set was manufactured by ERTL to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the John Deere 40 and 70 Series. The set includes two tractors constructed from die-cast metal with plastic tires and components. One tractor is a John Deere Model 40 featuring a wide front end, while the other is a John Deere Model 70 with a narrow front end and Power Steering decals. Both tractors are finished in traditional John Deere green and yellow livery. Markings on the tractors include yellow lettering on the hoods reading JOHN DEERE along with their respective model numbers 40 and 70. The Model 70 also features a yellow Power Steering decal on the frame. The Model 40 has ERTL and MADE IN CHINA cast into the rear axle. The items are housed in their original window display box which includes internal cardboard supports. The box exterior features technical illustrations, including a cutaway diagram of the Model 40 on the reverse side, and is printed with 50th Anniversary Collector Set and ERTL branding.
