Venetian Ruby Red Swirl Vase w/ Gilt Rococo Scene - 19.25 inches. This is a tall, tapered cylindrical vase made of hand-blown ruby red glass. The body of the vase features an internal optic swirl or ribbing pattern visible from the exterior and through the translucent glass. The piece is embellished with extensive gold gilding throughout. A large, ornate Rococo-style cartouche is centered on the front, enclosing a detailed pastoral scene of a couple seated in a landscape setting under a tree. The top of the vase features a solid gold-banded rim above a horizontal band of scrolling foliage and floral motifs. Additional gilded scrollwork and foliate designs frame the central medallion and decorate the lower portion of the vessel. The base exhibits an unfinished, rough pontil mark characteristic of hand-blown production. No signatures, manufacturer marks, or labels are present.
