Victorian Style Cast Iron Button Boot Match Holder - This cast iron object is designed in the form of a Victorian lady's high-top button boot, traditionally used as a match holder or toothpick holder. The boot features detailed side buttons, a pointed toe, a small heel, and a decorative scalloped rim at the top opening. The boot is mounted onto a circular cast iron base via two bolts visible on the underside. The base is decorated with a pierced openwork foliate and scrollwork pattern. On the underside of the base, the numbers 6 and 9 are cast in raised relief between the two mounting bolts. Other faint cast markings are present on the underside but are not clearly legible due to age and oxidation.
