Pair Weeden & K. J. Miller Electric Steam Engines - This lot features two American-manufactured electric toy steam engine components produced by the Weeden Manufacturing Co. and The K. J. Miller Corporation. The first item is a Junior Engineer stationary steam engine, model SE 100, manufactured by The K. J. Miller Corporation of Chicago, Illinois. It consists of an oscillating cylinder engine with a single flywheel mounted on a painted cast-metal base. The unit includes a red-painted boiler housing an internal electric heating element. A red manufacturer label on the base reads: JUNIOR ENGINEER / TRADE MARK U.S. PAT. OFF. / STEAM ENGINE / MODEL SE 100 / PAT. PENDING / THE K. J. MILLER CORPORATION / CHICAGO 50, ILL. The original electrical cord with a brown Bakelite-style plug is attached. The second item is a Weeden vertical electric toy steam boiler. It features a brass-toned metal boiler barrel mounted on a red-painted metal base. The unit is equipped with a top-mounted chimney, a safety valve, and a whistle. A decal on the barrel reads: TRADE WEEDEN MARK / REG. U. S. PAT. OFF. It includes a heavy black-and-white checkered cloth-covered power cord. Both units are presented without original packaging.
