G.H. Hammond Co. Rosebud Sliced Beef Wooden Box - This antique wooden advertising box was produced for the Rosebud Brand Sliced Beef by The G.H. Hammond Co., a prominent American meatpacking firm. The rectangular crate is constructed of wood with finger-jointed corners and features a lid attached by two simple wire hinges. The interior of the lid displays printed advertising graphics contained within a rectangular border. The top arched line reads THE G.H. HAMMOND CO. in black, followed by ROSEBUD BRAND and SLICED BEEF in red block lettering. The bottom of the graphic is marked U S A in black. The exterior of the box exhibits a naturally aged wood patina with traces of a circular stamp on the lid surface. The interior bottom is fitted with a bright yellow paper or cardboard liner.
