MSA Comfo Cap Helmet & Guy's Dropper Carbide Lamp - This lot features a mid-20th century industrial mining helmet paired with an attached carbide lamp. The helmet is a Mine Safety Appliances (MSA) Comfo Cap model, made of resin-impregnated textile composite. The exterior surface displays a woven texture characteristic of this model. A metal mounting bracket is riveted to the front of the cap, featuring a stamped manufacturer mark reading MINE SAFETY APPLIANCES CO. PITTSBURGH, PA alongside the MSA logo. The interior retains its original suspension components, including a leather headband and cross-pattern canvas webbing straps. Mounted to the helmet is a brass carbide mining lamp. The top of the lamp is embossed with the brand name GUY'S DROPPER, identifying it as a product of the Shanklin Manufacturing Company. The lamp includes a circular metal reflector and a top-mounted adjustment lever for water control.
