Korean Brass Silk Iron w/ Deer & Foliate Relief - A Korean cast brass silk iron featuring a deep conical bowl and a long tapered handle. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with a continuous relief-cast scene depicting deer among trees, traditional symbols of longevity. The handle is ornamented with stylized foliate scroll motifs in relief and includes an integrated support rest. This form was historically used by placing hot coals inside the bowl to press silk fabric. The underside of the base is marked KOREA in block letters.
