Yale University Class of 1914 Leather Wall Hanging - This collegiate wall hanging is a commemorative piece for the Yale University Class of 1914. The item is constructed from a natural, white-tanned animal hide with irregular, untrimmed edges characteristic of an unprocessed skin. Centrally applied to the front is a large navy blue block serif letter Y, flanked by the numerals 1 and 4. This style of memorabilia was a popular decorative item for students and alumni of Ivy League institutions during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The reverse side of the hide displays an incised or outlined version of the central graphics in reverse. A small white string tag and a white barcode auction tag are attached to the upper edge of the hide.
