Mid-20th C. American Appliqued Cotton Tulip Quilt - 64 x 78 A hand-crafted cotton bed quilt featuring a traditional stylized tulip pattern, dating to the mid-20th century. The quilt is composed of twelve blocks arranged in a three-by-four grid on a white cotton ground. Each block contains a hand-appliqued floral motif with three blossoms in red, yellow, and teal cotton fabrics on a single stem with two leaves. The central field is framed by a decorative border consisting of a row of red diamonds on a white ground, flanked by solid yellow inner and outer borders. The entire piece is hand-quilted with straight-line and cross-hatch patterns. The reverse side is plain white cotton.
