Log Cabin Straight Furrows Hand Quilted Quilt - 68 x 72 This is a vintage handmade patchwork quilt featuring a scrappy Log Cabin pattern in a Straight Furrows layout, which creates diagonal bands of light and dark colors across the surface. The quilt top is constructed from numerous cotton and cotton-blend fabric remnants, including a wide variety of calico prints, ginghams, stripes, and solids. The piece is hand-quilted throughout with a fan or clamshell stitch design. The top and bottom borders are finished in a dark red fabric, while the side borders are light blue. The reverse consists of a solid cream cotton backing. The variety of prints, including some resembling mid-20th-century calico and feed sack designs, indicates a likely manufacture date between the 1940s and 1960s.
