Americana Scrappy Patchwork Quilt Top, Mid-20th C - 38 x 40 This lot features a hand-constructed Americana scrappy patchwork quilt top, likely dating from the mid-20th century. The piece is composed of a variety of cotton and cotton-blend fabric remnants. The patchwork design utilizes small square and rectangular blocks in numerous patterns, including calico florals, ginghams, ticking stripes, and solid colors. Some sections are arranged in traditional nine-patch configurations. Notable elements include a patch with small pink anchor motifs on a dark ground. The central patchwork is framed by a wide blue border fabric with a white polka-dot print. The reverse side shows the assembly technique with visible seam allowances and many loose threads.
