American Folk Art Housetop Variation Quilt - 66 x 84 This hand-pieced and hand-quilted textile features a concentric rectangular medallion design, commonly referred to as a Housetop or concentric square variation in the American folk art tradition. The quilt top is constructed from strips of solid-colored fabric, likely cotton or a cotton blend, in shades of muted sage green, pale sky blue, and golden yellow. The entire piece is hand-stitched, utilizing utility-style quilting with rows of running stitches that follow the geometric layout of the pieced strips. The reverse side consists of a solid, single-color fabric in an ochre or dark mustard yellow.
