American Hand Quilted Cotton Dresden Plate Quilt - 68 x 90 This vintage American hand-quilted quilt features the classic Dresden Plate pattern. The piece is constructed from a white cotton ground and reverse, with 30 hand-appliqued circular blocks arranged in a five-by-six grid. Each Dresden Plate block is composed of multiple wedge-shaped cotton fabric scraps in a variety of mid-20th-century prints, including calicos, florals, stripes, polka dots, and solids, radiating from a central fabric circle in varying colors. The construction exhibits both hand-appliqu? and hand-quilting throughout. The quilting design follows the contours of the plates with radiating lines and concentric circular stitching on the white field. The edges are finished with a simple turned binding.
