Bidspirit auction | American Wagon Wheel Quilt w/

American Wagon Wheel Quilt w/ Seed Sack Backing - 68 x 80 This is a mid-20th-century American bed quilt, hand-pieced and hand-quilted in a traditional Wagon Wheel or Kaleidoscope pattern. The quilt top is composed of various cotton fabrics including floral calicoes, stripes, checks, and solid colors characteristic of the Depression-era feed sack style. The central blocks are arranged in a grid and framed by a wide blue border featuring a printed motif of hearts, geometric lines, and floral sprigs. The entire piece is hand-quilted in a fan or clamshell pattern. The backing is constructed from repurposed white cotton fabric. Faded green stenciled markings are visible on the reverse side, identifying the material as salvaged hybrid corn seed sacks. The stencil includes the text 4-CORN HYBRID SEED and a central graphic of a stylized ear of corn enclosed within a border of leaf or acorn shapes.
