American Velvet Patchwork Medallion Quilt - 64 x 84 A hand-tied velvet patchwork quilt featuring a medallion design. The central navy blue velvet rectangular panel is surrounded by concentric rectangular borders in shades of red, navy blue, and charcoal grey velvet. The patches are joined with decorative hand-embroidery in yellow, purple, and blue cross-stitching. The quilt is constructed with numerous light-colored yarn ties distributed across the surface to secure the batting. The reverse side is finished with a solid mustard-yellow fabric. The design and materials are consistent with late 19th to early 20th-century American folk-art textiles.
