Dazey Hand-Crank Glass Butter Churn - An antique hand-cranked glass butter churn, attributed to the Dazey Churn and Manufacturing Company 14in tall and resembling the No. 40 model. The device features a molded clear glass jar with a square-shouldered form. The top assembly consists of a cast-iron lid with a manual bevel gear mechanism and a crank arm fitted with a wooden handle. The internal mechanism includes a vertical metal shaft connected to a four-blade wooden dasher assembly. The glass jar is molded with the characters 4 QT near the shoulder, denoting its capacity, and the digits 2 6 8 near the base. The cast-iron housing shows evidence of raised embossed lettering, though surface oxidation prevents a definitive reading of the text.
