Gebruder Hermann & Merrythought Bears - 14in A pair of collectible jointed teddy bears from renowned manufacturers Gebr?der Hermann and Merrythought. The first bear, produced by Gebr?der Hermann in West Germany, is a limited edition numbered 195 of 500. It is constructed from mottled tipped brown mohair plush with a shaved, lighter-colored muzzle and a distinctive yellow felt open-mouth design. The bear features dark eyes, a hand-stitched brown nose, and a red satin ribbon. Identifying marks include a paper certificate chest tag, a secondary red and yellow brand tag, and a white fabric side tag stating the item was made in West Germany. The second bear is a Merrythought limited edition, numbered 00555 of 1,000, manufactured in Ironbridge, Shropshire, England. It is crafted from golden honey-colored mohair with dark eyes and a black stitched nose and mouth. The bear features brown felt paw pads and a red satin ribbon. Markings include a yellow cloth label stitched to the left foot pad, a ”Pure Mohair” chest tag featuring a goat graphic, and a fabric side tag. The reverse of the side tag displays the hand-numbered edition and a blue ink signature. Both bears feature five-way jointed construction.
