Mid-C. US Advertising & Sports Lot - An assortment of mid-20th-century American collectibles comprising advertising, sports, religious, and social organization items. The collection includes a molded slag glass bus or van figurine with a marbled pattern of red, orange, yellow, and white. This glass piece exhibits an orange-yellow fluorescent response under ultraviolet light, which is characteristic of cadmium glass. Advertising memorabilia features a celluloid Armour Star Flavor Fresh Frying Chicken pin with a USDA inspection mark, a large General Electric canister vacuum advertising button, a Sand Mountain Fryer Chicken pin, and a paper Holsum Bread promotional flag marked for Cruver Mfg. Co. of Chicago. Sports-related items consist of three circular plastic-framed baseball player discs depicting Yogi Berra of the New York Yankees, Eddie Mathews of the Milwaukee Braves, and Harvey Kuenn of the Detroit Tigers.
