19th C. Spun Brass Jam Pan, Iron Handle - This is a large, open-top utility kettle or jam pan, likely of 19th-century American or European origin. The body is constructed from spun brass, showing prominent horizontal striations characteristic of being shaped on a lathe. The kettle features a reinforced rolled rim and a hand-forged iron swing handle. The handle is attached to the body by two iron brackets and secured with iron rivets. The base of the vessel is rounded and shows significant darkening from contact with a heat source. No maker marks, signatures, or stamps are visible on the object.
