Hazelle Hansel & Gretel Marionettes - This lot features a pair of vintage marionettes from the Hazelle's Popular line, depicting the fairy tale characters No. 813 Hansel and No. 814 Gretel. Produced in Kansas City, Missouri, these puppets feature molded Tenite heads and hands with fixed, painted eyes and blonde curly wigs. The bodies are made of stuffed cloth and the legs are constructed of wood. Both figures retain their original outfits. Hansel is dressed in a blue and white gingham shirt, dark blue trousers, and a red woven patterned vest with suspenders. Gretel wears a red and white gingham blouse with black trim, a blue skirt, a white apron, and blue leggings. Each marionette is controlled via a red-painted wooden crossbar handle labeled as an Airplane Control with patent number 2,113,839. The puppets are housed in their original red cardboard boxes, which include the manufacturer's name, product line, and specific character designations on the end flaps.
