Federal Revival Mahogany Server - 48x18x33 This mid-20th-century two-drawer server is designed in the Federal Revival style, constructed primarily of mahogany with a dark reddish-brown finish. The rectangular case features a top with a stepped molded edge. The top drawer is fitted with two small brass knobs flanking a central gilded decorative mount in the form of a classical urn with a flame finial. The bottom drawer features two brass drop-ring pulls. Both drawer fronts are decorated with an inset panel featuring re-entrant corners. The drawers are constructed with machine-cut dovetail joinery and utilize a light-colored secondary hardwood for the interiors. A decorative apron below the drawers features a gilded vertical-ribbed or dentil-style molding. The piece is supported by four square-tapered legs featuring reeded carvings near the base. The back of the server is finished with a plywood or composite wood panel. No maker's marks, stamps, or labels were identified on the piece.
