WWII German Army Heer Officer Dagger by Carl Eickhorn - A WWII German Army (Heer) officer's dagger, a sidearm pattern introduced in 1935. The dagger features a tapered, double-edged steel blade. The reverse ricasso is stamped with the manufacturer trademark for Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, consisting of a squirrel holding a sword with the word ORIGINAL above and Eickhorn SOLINGEN below. The hilt is constructed with a ribbed orange celluloid grip, a conical pommel with a relief of oak leaves, and a silver-toned metal crossguard. The crossguard depicts the Heer-style eagle with down-swept wings clutching a wreathed swastika. The matching silver-toned metal scabbard has a pebbled surface and two suspension bands decorated with oak leaves, each with a loose hanging ring. The dagger is complete with its original hangers, consisting of two silver bullion lace straps with dark green velvet backing, pebbled metal buckles, and spring-loaded clips.
