Bidspirit auction | US Military Korean War M1

US Military Korean War M1 Steel Combat Helmet with Liner and Unit Insignia - This lot features a US military M1 steel combat helmet paired with a removable non-metallic liner. The steel shell is a front-seam variety with a stainless steel rim, consistent with manufacture during the mid-1940s and subsequent issue during the Korean War period. The helmet is equipped with swivel bails and an olive drab green canvas chinstrap featuring a metal hook fastener. The exterior retains a textured olive drab finish and displays a blue shield-shaped unit insignia on both sides, which contains weathered white and yellow interior elements resembling the 24th Infantry Division taro leaf insignia. The rear exterior of the helmet shell bears handwritten text in black ink reading LEK-3790 above SEOUL. This marking provides a specific geographical and historical attribution to the Korean theater of operations. No manufacturer stamps are clearly visible on the interior of the shell or liner.
