German Third Reich Kriegsmarine M1938 Officer Dagger by E. Bonsmann Solingen - 10in A German Third Reich Kriegsmarine (Navy) Officer Dagger, Model 1938. The double-edged stiletto-style blade features acid-etched naval motifs on both sides, including foliage, tridents, and fouled anchors. The ricasso is stamped with a manufacturer mark for E. Bonsmann of Solingen, featuring an oval border with the text X E . B O N S M A N N X and SOLINGEN surrounding a central shield containing three anchors. The hilt assembly includes a gilded brass M1938 pattern pommel depicting a Nazi eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika. The crossguard features a central block with a recessed fouled anchor and decorative acorn finials. The grip is constructed of a yellow synthetic material, likely celluloid or Trolon, with spiral carving and a triple strand of twisted brass wire wrap. The brass scabbard is the lightning bolt (Blitz) variety, featuring engraved lightning patterns and two suspension bands decorated with oak leaves.
