A Pair of German World War II Combat Award Badges Including Infantry Assault Badge and General - This lot consists of two German combat qualification badges from the World War II era, both of solid-back, die-struck construction typical of mid-to-late war production. The first item is an Infantry Assault Badge (Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen). The design features an oval wreath of oak leaves with a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a swastika at the apex. Centered diagonally is a Karabiner 98k rifle with a fixed bayonet and sling. The badge is manufactured from a zinc-based alloy (Kriegsmetall). The reverse features a vertical pin with a barrel hinge and a C-shaped wire catch. No manufacturer marks are visible on the reverse. The second item is a General Assault Badge (Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). This badge features an oval oak leaf wreath surrounding a central motif of a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a swastika, situated above a crossed bayonet and a Model 24 stick grenade. The construction is solid-back zinc alloy. The reverse is fitted with a vertical pin assembly. No manufacturer marks are visible.
