Two WWII German Kriegsmarine War Badges: Coastal Artillery and High Seas Fleet - This lot consists of two qualification badges issued by the German Kriegsmarine during the Second World War. Both items are struck in a one-piece zinc alloy, commonly referred to as Kriegsmetall. The first item is a Coastal Artillery War Badge (Kriegsabzeichen f?r die Marineartillerie). The design features an oval wreath of oak leaves surrounding a 15cm coastal gun in a casemate, surmounted by the national emblem. The reverse is incised with the maker mark SCHWERIN BERLIN, identifying it as a product of the firm Schwerin & S?hne. The badge is fitted with a vertical, tapered pin assembly and a sheet metal hinge and catch. The second item is a High Seas Fleet War Badge (Flotten-Kriegsabzeichen). The obverse depicts a frontal view of a battleship moving through waves within an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by the national emblem. The reverse bears the incised designer mark FEC. ADOLF BOCK and the raised manufacturer mark RS within a square, attributing production to Rudolf Souval of Vienna. This example utilizes a horizontal pin assembly.
