Vintage McCoy Pottery Mammy Cookie Jar - 11 in tall A vintage figural ceramic cookie jar produced by the McCoy Pottery Company. The jar is fashioned in the form of a Mammy figure, wearing a full-skirted white dress with a wide collar and a red headscarf. The word Cookies is embossed in raised script on the lower front of the skirt. The piece is composed of two sections: the head and torso function as the lid, while the pleated skirt serves as the base. The jar is made of earthenware with a glossy white glaze. The facial features, hands, headscarf, buttons, and green trim are finished using a cold-paint technique applied over the fired glaze. The base is marked with an incised McCoy signature.
