Bidspirit auction | Mid-C. Weeping Gold Grape Ceramic

Mid-C. Weeping Gold Grape Ceramic Ewer - 18 in tall Mid-century ceramic decorative ewer featuring a weeping gold luster finish. The vessel is constructed of white earthenware with a bulbous body, a slender tapering neck, and a wide flared spout with a pinched lip. A high-arched C-scroll handle is attached from the rim to the shoulder. The exterior is decorated with relief-molded grapevine patterns, including clusters of grapes and large leaves. The decoration is finished with a mottled green glaze in the recessed areas and a thick metallic gold luster overglaze on the raised elements, handle, and rim, characteristic of the weeping gold style popular in the 1950s and 1960s. The interior is finished with a creamy white glaze, and the underside of the base remains unglazed and unmarked except for a visible mold seam.
