Cape Cod Iron & Brass Fire Lighter - 6x5 This vintage fire starter set, traditionally known as a Cape Cod fire lighter, is an American fireplace accessory designed to assist in lighting wood fires. The set consists of a tripod cauldron, a fitted lid, and a fire-starting wand. The pot is constructed of cast iron with a matte black finish and features three integral legs and a wire-form brass bail handle. The domed brass lid is designed with a specific notch to accommodate the wand while in the pot. The wand comprises a slender brass rod with a decorative spherical finial and a porous stone head, likely made of pumice or a similar ceramic material, intended to soak up kerosene or lamp oil.
