Bohemian Cobalt Cut to Clear Bowl - 11.5x3 A large circular centerpiece bowl or low compote crafted from cobalt blue cased glass cut to clear crystal. The piece features a vibrant cobalt blue exterior layer cut through to a clear lead crystal body. The decoration is organized into a swirling, multi-panel motif radiating from a large, deeply cut starburst on the underside. These panels alternate between two distinct styles: finely frosted intaglio-cut rose blossoms with trailing foliate stems, and geometric patterns consisting of large circular pinwheels or modified hobstars with sharp, multi-point rays. The bowl is finished with a heavily notched and serrated scalloped rim. The cutting is deep and precise, creating a high degree of light refraction. This piece is characteristic of high-quality Bohemian or Czech glass manufacturing from the 20th century. No maker marks or signatures are visible.
