3 Ohio Tool Co & Moulson Bros Planes - A trio of antique wooden hand planes from the 19th century, featuring an Ohio Tool Company screw arm sash plane, a bench smoothing plane, and a profile molding plane. The largest piece is an Ohio Tool Co. double-iron sash molding plane, stamped on the toe with OHIO TOOL CO COLUMBUS and model number 93. It features two large turned wooden knobs on threaded screw arms for fence adjustment. The second plane is a standard smoothing plane fitted with a cast steel iron bearing the arched stamp MOULSON BROTHERS along with WARRANTED CAST STEEL IMPROVED WELDED, identifying the blade as a Sheffield-made tool. The third item is a molding plane with a complex curved profile on the sole, designed for creating decorative wood trim. All planes are constructed from beechwood and utilize wooden wedges to secure the steel irons.
