Dressel Railroad Lantern w/ Red Fresnel - 9 in. This antique railroad signal lantern was manufactured by the Dressel Railway Lamp and Signal Company of Arlington, New Jersey. The lantern is constructed of metal, likely tinned or galvanized steel, and features a protective wire cage frame. It is equipped with a red glass Fresnel-style globe, which was standard for danger or stop signals in railway operations. The top ventilation cap is stamped with the circular text DRESSEL and ARLINGTON, N.J. around the perforation holes. A small diamond-shaped logo is embossed on the metal shoulder, containing a railroad company identifier. The lantern includes a tall wire bail handle for carrying or hanging and a hinged top with a latch for accessing the interior burner. The base contains the fuel pot assembly and features a hand-painted yellow character on the underside.
