Bidspirit auction | Pair Bohemian Ruby Cut-to-Clear Lusters
Pair Bohemian Ruby Cut-to-Clear Lusters - 11 in tall. A pair of Bohemian style ruby stained and enameled glass lusters, attributed to the mid-to-late 19th century. Each luster features a flared, scalloped-rim bowl decorated with an intricate scrolling foliate and fleur-de-lis pattern, wheel-cut through a ruby-red stain to reveal clear lead glass, accented with white enamel. The tapering stems are embellished with alternating horizontal ruby and clear bands, leading to a spreading circular base with a repeating foliate motif matching the bowl. Suspended from the underside of each bowl are ten long, notched, and pointed cut-glass prisms attached by wire hooks. The prisms feature various cut designs, including notched edges and multi-faceted points. No maker marks are visible. The undersides of the bases are not visible in the provided images; therefore, the pontil mark type cannot be determined.
