Vtg Asian-Style Lacquer Wood Vanity Set - 11.5x8x3 A vintage Asian-style vanity set presented in a black lacquered wood storage case. The set comprises a group of accessories including a handled hair brush with white bristles, a rectangular lidded trinket box, a circular lidded powder jar, a two-tone blue and white plastic tail comb, and a small brass-toned key. The main case features a hinged lid with an inset rectangular mirror and a fitted interior with pink and red fabric and paper linings. The lid of the box and the surfaces of the accessory pieces are decorated with hand-painted tropical scenes in an Orientalist style, depicting figures in conical hats, palm trees, thatched-roof huts, and boats. The motifs are executed in gold-tone paint with accents of teal and red. Three stylized yellow characters are located on the upper right corner of the main box lid. The case is constructed with brass-toned hardware and a simple lock mechanism.
