Folk Art Mayflower Ship Model - 28x27 This is an artisan-crafted folk art model of the 17th-century merchant ship Mayflower. The model features a three-masted sailing ship design constructed primarily of wood with a planked-hull appearance and hand-painted details. The color scheme consists of a yellow lower hull accented by horizontal red bands, a dark brown keel and bow, and a blue-painted upper stern section. The transom is decorated with painted windows and a decorative finial, and it bears the hand-painted name MAYFLOWER in stylized script. The ship is equipped with extensive rigging composed of dark cordage and numerous wooden dead-eyes and blocks. The sails are made of a stiffened fabric, treated with a crackled finish to simulate weathered cloth. A hand-painted pre-1801 Union Jack flag is mounted on the mainmast. The model is presented on a simple two-piece wooden display stand. One side of the wooden support block has the handwritten mark A-2 in dark ink. A blank white circular string tag is attached to the bowsprit.
