Loose-Wiles Sunshine Biscuits Glass Tin - 12.5x6.5 An antique bulk retail display canister for Sunshine Biscuits, manufactured by the Loose-Wiles Biscuit Company. This cylindrical tin features a lithographed metal body and a hinged lid with a circular glass viewing port, designed for use in a general store or market environment to allow customers to view products while keeping them fresh. The top of the lid frame is lithographed with the words Sunshine Biscuits, and the bottom section reads Loose-Wiles Biscuit Company. The text is rendered in a gold-toned gothic or blackletter typeface against a dark blue ground. The Loose-Wiles Biscuit Company utilized this branding prior to officially changing its name to Sunshine Biscuits, Inc. in 1946. The canister is constructed of tinplate and retains its original metal hinge and wire closure. A small, illegible paper label remnant is present on the exterior base.
