National No. 77 Barn Door Sales Sample - A industrial salesman sample for the No. 77 Storm-Proof barn door hardware system, produced by the National Manufacturing Company of Sterling, Illinois, circa 1920s-1930s. This functional miniature model is designed to demonstrate the installation and operation of agricultural sliding door components. The piece consists of a wooden frame housing a smaller wooden door panel that slides along a metal track. The hardware includes a hooded steel track, two cast iron rollers or hangers, and a handle hasp latch at the base. The wooden door panel features original black stenciled markings including the number 77, Storm-Proof, National Mfg. Co., and Sterling, Ill. Additional stenciling on the lower right of the panel identifies the No. 77 Handle Hasp. The model demonstrates how the hooded track protected the rollers from weather, a key selling point for agricultural applications. Dimensions: Approximately 15-18 inches wide by 8-10 inches tall.
