R.J. Reynolds Washington Cut Plug Pail - 7.5x4x4.5 A early 20th-century lithographed metal tobacco tin for the George Washington Cut Plug brand, produced for the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The tin is designed in the style of a lunch box or pail, intended for repurposing by the consumer. The exterior features a blue field decorated with gold-tone stars and a central oval portrait of George Washington. The lithography includes the text SMOKE, CHEW, George Washington in script, and block lettering for GREATEST AMERICAN CUT PLUG. The lid is marked with the brand name and the manufacturer name R.J.
