1948 Packard Advertising Thermometer - 38.5x8 A advertising thermometer for the Packard Motor Car Company, manufactured by TCA Thermometer Corporation of America under the Tru-Temp brand. The sign is constructed of lithographed tin with a central glass thermometer tube. The graphic design features a white field with a blue arched inner section containing the script Packard logo and the words Motor Cars. Below the logo is a yellow rectangular field with scalloped borders reading Approved Service in red text. The lower section displays the Packard coat of arms crest featuring a pelican, the company slogan Ask the man who owns one, and a decorative banner at the base reading Packard Motor Car Company Detroit, Michigan. The thermometer scale measures from -60 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit and includes the production year code 48 at the top of the scale.
