American Brilliant Ohio Star Decanter - This is an American Brilliant Period cut glass decanter featuring a globular body and an elongated, octagonal faceted neck terminating in a flared rim. The body is decorated in the Ohio Star pattern, which consists of large multi-pointed stars separated by vertical serrated bands and fan motifs. The glass exhibits a uniform lavender or light amethyst tint throughout, a result of the manganese used as a decoloring agent in early glass formulas reacting to ultraviolet light over time, a process often called sun-purpling. 9 inches.
