Mid-C. Walnut Queen Anne Roll Top Desk - 40x22x44 This mid-20th-century roll-top desk is constructed from solid walnut featuring a highly figured swirling grain pattern. The top is surmounted by a decorative spindle gallery rail. The tambour slatted roll-top opens to reveal a fitted interior organized around a central two-door cabinet with serpentine-fronted doors. This central unit is flanked by two open pigeonholes featuring scalloped valances and a total of four small interior drawers, two on each side, with matching serpentine fronts and turned wooden knobs. The main writing surface is finished wood. The lower section of the desk contains three drawers arranged across the apron, consisting of one wide central drawer and two smaller side drawers. All three exterior drawers are fitted with carved wooden handles that follow the serpentine contour of the drawer fronts. The desk is elevated on four slender cabriole legs that terminate in pad feet.
