1940'S RARE ORNATE FAN FROM THE CHINA NAVIGATION COMPANY
his very unusual find is from the China Navigation Company Limited and is from the vessel The M.S. Kuala Lumper. It is possibly an as used on board item and from the dining area of the ship. It is a 'Ladies Fan' which shows on it a Chinese Menu on one side and a beautiful delicate painting of the vessel on the other. A souvenir of the voyage for the passengers and it is dated the late 1940's and is a rare and really delicate item which is in a fair condition due to its age.
[The China Navigation Company Limited is a merchant shipping company based in Hong Kong in China. It was founded by John Swire in 1872, to offer paddle-steamer services on the Yangtze. It grew to be a large shipping company in the early 20th century, and survives today with a small fleet of container ships and general cargo ships.
