A 14ct Yellow Gold and Hardstone Heraldic Intaglio Signet Ring - A 14ct yellow gold signet ring featuring a bezel-set, oval blue-toned hardstone intaglio, likely sardonyx or agate. The stone is carved with a heraldic coat of arms, consisting of a shield with horizontal hatching (traditionally representing the tincture azure), surmounted by an esquire's helmet with scrolling mantling, and a crest depicting a bird with wings displayed. The inner shank is stamped with the numerals 585, a fineness mark for 14ct gold. An accompanying handwritten tag identifies the seal as belonging to Herr Murwald and provides a date possibly 1850.
