Late 19th/Early 20th C Korean Chest with Lock - Chest of mixed hard / soft woods, figured, fine dovetail construction, with metal mounts, on bracket feet. The elaborate hardware likely made from a tin alloy has been engraved with decorative and auspicious patterns. Approx 40.5” H x 40” W x 17” D. A ”bandaji chest” is a traditional Korean wooden chest with the distinctive feature that the top half of its front door drops open to allow easy access to contents such as clothing or blankets.
