19th Century Oil on Canvas, American School - 19th century oil on canvas attributed to the American School depicting a portrait of a seated woman in a straw hat holding a floral arrangement. The painting is housed in an elaborate gilt and gesso frame with four layers of decorative molding. The overall dimensions, including the frame, measure 34 x 40 inches. The reverse shows aged wood stretchers and canvas consistent with the era. Frame has some losse/ restoration.
