A RARE GASSER MONTENEGRIN REVOLVER PISTOL - A double-action Montenegrin 11.2 mm, nickeled and engraved overall and well-marked with VERO MONTENEGRO on the barrel and MONTENEGRO PATENT on the frame, with checkered wood grips, extractor lacking. Action crisp, marked with a crowned R mark. 1880. Wear to nickel. King Nikola of Montenegro (r. 1860-1918,) decreed upon his accession, that every adult male must purchase and carry the Gasser pistol. Overall length 25.6cm./ 10 inches. Condition III
