Dominated by a brilliant saffron-yellow field, the central composition is a rhythmic mosaic of jewel-toned blocks—crimson, cobalt, emerald, and deep violet. Albizu, who studied under Hans Hofmann, utilized the “push and pull” theory of color to create a sense of vibrating space. Her work is famously associated with the Bossa Nova era, as her paintings graced many iconic album covers for Stan Getz and João Gilberto, perfectly capturing the movement and soul of the music through pure abstraction.
