The composition features a central, fluted neoclassical vase overflowing with a diverse bouquet of irises, lilies, and carnations. In the foreground, a rich assortment of peaches, grapes, apples, and a pear are scattered across a draped table, rendered with a luscious, painterly quality. The dark, atmospheric background contrasts sharply with the brightly lit subjects, drawing the viewer’s eye to the intricate play of light and shadow—a technique reminiscent of the Baroque tradition. The work is signed “Del Grano” in a distinctive red script in the lower-left corner. The artist demonstrates a remarkable command of texture, from the velvety petals of the flowers to the waxy sheen of the fruit and the cold, structured surface of the urn. A pronounced craquelure throughout the surface indicates the natural aging process of the paint layers, lending the piece an authentic antique patina and a sense of historical weight. On the reverse, the painting is accompanied by a “Certificato di Garanzia” (Certificate of Guarantee), which confirms the artist, title, and medium (oil on canvas). The piece is presented in a clean, modern white frame with a subtle gold inner lip, allowing the rich colors of the Mediterranean-inspired palette to take center stage. This still life would make a commanding statement in a traditional dining room or a curated gallery wall.
