ABRAHAM BAYLINSON RUSSIAN MODERNIST OIL STILL LIFE 1934
This vibrant original oil on canvas still life by Abraham Solomon Baylinson (Russian/American, 1882–1950) showcases the artist's bold Modernist style. Painted in 1934, the composition features a grey urn-form vase filled with a dynamic arrangement of red tulips, pink asters, and yellow snapdragons, set against a swirling, abstract background of warm earth tones. The work highlights Baylinson's training under Robert Henri and his association with the Society of Independent Artists, utilizing confident brushstrokes and a rich color palette. It is signed and dated "A.S. Baylinson 1934" in the lower left corner and includes biographical labels on the verso. Condition
The painting is in very good vintage condition with stable paint layers and thick impasto brushwork, housed in an ornate giltwood frame that shows minor signs of age and wear.
