ABRAHAM BAYLINSON RUSSIAN MODERNIST OIL STILL LIFE 1934
This vibrant original oil on canvas still life by Abraham Solomon Baylinson (Russian/American, 1882–1950) showcases the artist's bold Modernist style. Painted in 1934, the composition features a grey urn-form vase filled with a dynamic arrangement of red tulips, pink asters, and yellow snapdragons, set against a swirling, abstract background of warm earth tones. The work highlights Baylinson's training under Robert Henri and his association with the Society of Independent Artists, utilizing confident brushstrokes and a rich color palette. It is signed and dated "A.S. Baylinson 1934" in the lower left corner and includes biographical labels on the verso.
