ABRAHAM BAYLINSON AMERICAN STILL LIFE OIL PAINTING 1940
Oil on canvas still life by American artist Abraham Baylinson (1882–1950), a prominent figure in the Art Students League and the Society of Independent Artists. The composition features an abundant arrangement of wildflowers and carnations in a silver-toned footed bowl, set against a neutral, gestural background. The work demonstrates Baylinson’s characteristic Modernist approach, utilizing thick impasto and a vibrant, expressionistic color palette. The painting is signed and dated 1940 in red pigment in the lower right corner and is housed in a carved wood frame with a brass nameplate.
